Electrocuted Man Near My Home

Featured Replies

I was driving back home from the vet with my wife and her two young nieces. Traffic was pretty bad, and when we got close to the turn-off for our home, we saw why. A blackened body of a man was hanging from the walkover bridge over the road, suspended from a cable. There were a number of loose electrical cables near him.

It was pretty sobering, and my niece-in-laws have been very quiet since we got back.

The rats' nest of cables that abound everywhere are an accident waiting to happen, and this poor man paid the price.

The rats nest of cables are telephone cables.

Why did you take your wife to the vet ?

Why did you take your wife to the vet ?

Maybe he should've posted in the "What is the stingiest..." thread

Don't know about that mate, they don't come under the 30 b health scheme.

Krispy Kritter was probably trying to steal the copper since you said he was on a bridge and a lot of loose cables next to him.

Talking to my wife further last night, she said the man was probably a worker. There was a ladder truck from the nearby huge construction site there, and where I thought he was hanging from a cable, she said it was a harness.

Another unqualified electrician, it's amazing the amount of workers doing electrical work and have no background in the field.

A few years back I instructed a so called electrician to do some work and told him to cut the power off before he starts . He argued with me he knows what he's doing and when I came back He wasn't there and was told he got electrocuted and was in hospital. Sure enough he turns up a couple of day's later with a large bandage up his arm and asking for money for medical expenses.

Electrical work is realy not that difficult, it flows like water!

I was just reading that story in Thairath. The unfortunate man was 23 year-old Sataphorn Yophan, who worked putting up posters on the advertising hoardings. The incident took place in Ratchaphruek Road, soi 23, in BKK's Taling Chan district and he'd tried to use a wire to attach a poster to an electricity pole. Unfortunately it seems he got to near the live part of the structure.

It's quite appropriate to have your famous last words on the telephone...

At least he had the chance to say goodbye!
