Flash floods warning for 12 provinces

BANGKOK: -- The Meteorological Department Tuesday maintained its flash flood warning for residents in 12 provinces and warned that heavy rains would continue in most parts of the country until Friday.

The department said the influence of southwest monsoon wind over the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand would cause rains to fall in 60 to 70 per cent of areas around the country until Friday.

It said flash floods could hit low-lying areas or areas near mountains in Mae Hong Son, Tak, Uthai Thani, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, Prachuapkhirikhan, Ranong, Phang Nga, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat.

Dear George,

Thanks for this. I live in Trat and last week the stream next to my house rose to within a few cm of flooding but today is perhaps the lowest I have seen it.

Is there anywhere I can get detailed weater warnings for Trat in English?

Hope you are keeping well,

All the Best

Bill Z
