Costas ? Turning to the "greek" side ?????

Believe me, you'r not the only one with a strange kind of humor or a bad timing for a joke ?

Dont worry about those who do not understand your joke, worry about those who misunderstand your view of life...

Live your dream, not their life...

The nasty people Costas as the old saying goes "Empty vessels make the most noise"

The same boorish dominators of conversation out in the real world, exist in the online world and not only on TV.

"Don't let the bastards get you down" Another old saying.

Costas:

Your post is as bitter as any.

You too are one of the many here who are crying out for approval ...

the approval of total strangers.

And it's not like we're talking about the most intellectually gifted

bunch of strangers either.

Isn't it rather, mostly lonely, maladjusted, love-starved, prejudiced,

& dull-witted misfits whose favour you're so desperate bidding to

win?

If you want to be gay (in either sense of the term), what stops you?

Go right ahead.

Your responsibility is, first & foremost, towards your own self.

As other posters have pointed out, the attacks aren't personal at

all. When vitriol gets spouted at you, that has nothing whatsoever

to do with you, but it's all about the spouter himself.

Finally, your post has brought back to mind a remarkable quote by

that truly gay Irish genius (yes, gay in both senses) Oscar Wilde:

'Ah! Don't say that you agree with me. When people agree with me

i always feel that i must be wrong'.

Oh Gawd, you have managed to get both Yeats and Oscar Wilde out of the cupboard. When, in your cause, someone quotes

Cavafy or even Ovid. I shall retire to my idyllic island and have no further conversations with so called men

Ooooooohhhh, dear members, this is a true intellectual.

Respec, him (not a spelling mistake), and listen to his advice.

When I grow up, I would like to be like him.

Don't know why you can't reply.

Haven't blocked you.

I've only blocked 3 members as I don't like their avatars.

May be you are including too many quotes?

Try to delete some and should be all right.

Just ignore these people who don´t understand irony. We need to approach life with a bit of a smile and a big sense of humor. Those who doeasn´t get that, is probably people you have to stay away from.

My life philophosy is cencentrated in 3 sentences:

1: Stay away from people who doesn´t like to joke

!: Stay away from people who doesn´t like a good meal and a drink.

2:Stay away from people who hate animals.

:-)

Love you Froggy.......very well said.

There is a Toad also on this forum but he is unavailable at this moment as he is digesting his paella.

So yes OP, there is an ignore feature here. In your settings, under "Manage ignore prefs".

I had a friend on FB who would post about current weather, health updates, bowel movements, grocery list and especially, every bit of bad luck she had, in excruciatingly long comments. It took minutes more just to scroll through my timeline because of her.

I clicked "don't show on timeline" and it's saved me loads of time and annoyance. If I'm bored I can always go to her page and read what I missed.

Costas:

Nope, i'm afraid you're wrong.

I typed in '... you're so desperate bidding to win', which reads quite

awkwardly as i inadvertently left out the final 'ly' in 'desperately'.

Derision aside, my advice was meant for you alone, hence the

heading 'Costas', ... arguably, a prime example of a quaint Greek

name.

Glad to see that TVF members have all of the sudden become

'dear' to you.

An improvement by any standards.

Tzar.

I always try to stay positive. Smile and be polite,

Welcome those who cross your path through life and they will return it. Treat others the way you want to be treated.

If a negative experience can affect someone for long term, then do can a positive experience. :)

C'est la farang vie.

In most respects, Farangs in Thailand are not representative of the world population as a whole. They are a self-selected group, where civility, humor and a live-and-let-live attitude was not part of the selection process. One might guess that many were running away from there home country, rather than running toThailand.

We are all a bit strange w00t.gif

Like many others, I was put on the wrong track by the topic title. The original meaning of the word gay has slid into oblivion a long time ago. Costas should have used the word cheerful.

I believe gay like in the present meaning of the word became current in the seventies. Remember talking about it with friends, we wondered about it, because gay (present meaning) friends/acquaintances often didn't seem so gay (old meaning).

he should have used the word just as he did. I refuse to let a bunch of PC idiots and homosexuals hijack a word that has been around for hundreds of years, Gay is to be happy and carefree. in the 1940's there was a movie called "our hearts were young and gay"

I have come to the conclusion...after have read many "gay" related articles and polls...that the only reason we keep revisiting this subject...is to keep the controversy going...shed light on a rather dull subject...and beat a dead gay horse to death...

If you are happy and your gay...clap your hands...pat yourself on the back...go kiss the mirror...and hug yourself...

In the mean time...give those who do not wish to have to be exposed to the BS of gays self-promotion of their lifestyle...a break..

Enjoy yourself with those who are of a like mind...and let the rest of us enjoy our lifestyle without having to reassure you constantly that you are not the miserable creature you just kissed in the mirror...
