Kuala Lumpur visa processing time (Non-imm B)

Featured Replies

Hey,

I'm planning a visa run to KL to get a non-imm Business visa. I'm trying to plan my flight to stay there as short as possible, as this isn't exactly a cheap visa run for me.

I'm considering arriving on Sunday night, then going on Monday morning to apply at the Thai embassy in KL. Then I'd pick up my passport the next day in the afternoon, and fly out that same day.

So only 2 hotel nights instead of 3.

Or do I need to add an extra day? Will it not be ready the next day?

Thanks guys.

Next day service, but be aware theat KL is not the most friendly Thai consulate in the region.

Always check for local holidays.

Thanks. I'm being advised by the company offering my WP that Malaysia would be a good choice to get the Non-B. I'd prefer Vientiane, Laos (MUCH cheaper) but my company has said they're more picky/strict there...

I assume you are getting a single entry visa. They don't do multiple entry visas.

Do you have or will you have a work permit application approval letter? You will need it to get the visa.

It is next day service. They will be closed on the 16th for a holiday.

Yes the company will have all of the documents ready for me.

I've read that I can get the single entry visa and then change it to a multi-entry later? I'm having trouble finding out more information about that.

After I get back from my visa run, I'll be traveling to Canada soon after, in November. Will that be possible? Do I need to apply for a re-entry permit?

You would have to go to Penang to get a multiple entry visa.

If the company and your salary qualifies you can get a one year extension of stay at immigration.

If you still only have your 90 entry from your visa you will need a re-entry permit for those 90 days to keep the entry valid.

You could have the extension by November if you get your work permit and the company can provide the documents.
