Featured Replies

would like to go back ti Thailand next year . i got three dates im thinking of , April, May or end of September . i rather go at the end of September . is there a lot of rain in September .

thanks in advance .

will

April and May are super hot. Sometimes miserable. End of September is the rainy season, but with climate change, you never know now. It could be bad or could be OK. And it for sure depends on where you go. Koh Chang is very wet in September. Other places in Thailand, not so much.

I love the rainy season. But then again, I'm not looking for "beach time".

Out of those 3 months September is likely to be the wettest, April and May the hottest with the odd storm thrown in. Of course it also depends what area you travel to.

September is the wettest month, up here in Chiang Mai, and there's flooding reported for Isaan.

April sees the peak of our hot-and-dry season.

May isn't that wet, normally.

And May would offer lower prices for flights IME.

On the east coast islands, Koh Samui, Phangan and Toa, it is not the wet season in September... generally very pleasant with a few cloudy periods and the odd shower!

Part of Koh Phangan west coast ....some really nice places to go on all the islands!...

I would pick September for a beach holiday. But watch out for box jellyfish on the beaches. They are not common, and there are warning signs where you are likely to find them, but as a 6 year old boy died from being stung about 2 weeks ago you do need to be little careful at this time of year. April and May are quite hot. If you have good aircon and ocean breezes it isn't too much of an issue - unless you are coming from somewhere like Norway.
