Re Entry Permit - Apply in Person

Featured Replies

When applying for a re-entry permit at Pattaya Immigration is it necessary to go in person or can a friend who is going anyway do it for me?

Thanks.

When applying for a re-entry permit you will need to submit the following -

* A completed TM-8 form

* The correct fee

* A 2″ photo

* Photocopy of passport (main page, visa page and latest entry stamp)

Current fees for re-entry permit

* 1,000 Baht for single

* 3,800 Baht for multiple

Re-entry permits can be applied for in person or by an agent at Thai Immigration. If an agent is used a letter of attorney is required. The processing time at Thai Immigration in Suan Phlu, can vary from 1 hour to half a day, so if you prefer to queue, apply before lunch so you you can pick it up later the same day

Don't know how sticky they are about the power (letter) of attorney. Maybe you could write something on a signed photocopy of your Passport ID page asking that your friend be allowed to do it along with a TM-8 filled out by you.

After posting I noticed that the form said you must apply in person. So I went myself.

I did enquire about this issue and was told that if you send someone to do it on your behalf you have to pay an extra 300 baht. I did not ask if you would get an official receipt for the 300 baht.
