Going to Ho Chi Minh City, should I get a visa to come back?

Planning a week vacation to Ho Chi Minh City. I'm currently on my second tourist visa, and made one border run before that.

Should I get another tourist Visa in Ho Chi Minh City before flying back to Bangkok? I'm from the USA, do you think they will give me a 30 day stamp? 10 days after I get back from Ho Chi Minh City I'm flying back to the states, so I'd rather not go through the hassle and $$ involved with a visa if I can avoid it.
