motorsaimang
Sorry to resurrect an old thread ( http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/194901-dansavanh-resortcasino-laos/ ), but their website is crappy and I can't see any other threads on this. I was hoping to see if anyone had any recent info? Particularly interested in Vientiane - Dansavanh transport and info on low stakes Poker tables. Also info on alcohol availability (24/7?), pricing, smoking rules and patronage would be nice.
MMan
Haven't been to the casino but did visit Dansavanh Golf Course 2 years ago. If it is any indication I'd suggest not wasting your time. About 2 hours drive from Vientiane over poor roads. Clubhouse and golf course old, tired and poorly maintained. I had to wake up the staff on arrival and only saw one other golfer (more goats than golfers on the course).I'd guess the casino patronage is mostly Thais from across the border and maybe some Chinese. My understanding is Lao people are not allowed to gamble in Lao casinos (if they enforce that).

Since you visited, they have employed a golf pro from England. He has improved the club and course dramatically. I will take some pics and post them next month when I visit. The road from VTE is now being made into a highway as the Government offices are now being relocated to that area. As with everything in Laos, things take time. You are correct about Laotians not being allowed to gamble, but it isn't enforced.
