Using two passports to travel from Singapore to Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am Pakistani citizen holding two passports (official passport and ordinary passport). Currently I am living in Singapore on student pass and using my official passport in Singapore.

I want to visit Phuket and I want to endorse Thai visa on my ordinary passport. Is it possible to exit from Singapore on my official passport and enter Thailand on my ordinary passport? And then on return, exit from Thailand on ordinary passport and enter in Singapore on official passport?

You can change passports when traveling by air without a problem.

The problem you may have is getting a tourist visa from the Thai embassy for your entry to Thailand with a different passport than the one you are in Singapore on.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I checked with Thai embassy and they can issue visa on my ordinary passport.

One more thing. If I change passport during air travel, will the immigration officer in Thailand check the exit stamp on arrival. Since I will exit on my official passport from Singapore and enter in Thailand on my ordinary passport, there will be no exit stamp on my ordinary passport ?

On entry at an airport they do not check for a departure stamp from another country when you enter the country.
