I noticed the pumpkin also, I never made pies but used to make a quick pumkin soup with that product as it is 100% pumpkin... saute some meat, cumin, chili, onion and garlic add can contents and water, soup's on. top with avocado, cilantro and a squeeze of lime.. Amazing the import mark-up on such a cheap product. Luckily can buy a real "fuktong" in the fresh market for cheap and ...boneless chicken breast 80 baht a kilo at gad luang so.... soups on.

Just stopped by at Big C Extra (or is it plus). Anyway it's the Big C that used to be Carrefours. It's got some great French raw milk cheeses at a price that's similar to what you'd pay in the USA. I bought some raw milk Morbier that cost 245 baht for 250 grams. According to my inner Rainman that comes to a cost of 980 baht per kilo. The cheese is excellent. They also have some rarer raw milk cheeses like St. Marcellin.

Actually, as far as weight goes, the deal is slightly better than that. The smaller bar weighs 65 grams. Also, the smaller bar is going to be either a dark chocolate (50%) or a milk chocolate bar. The bars are attached so you've got to choose from what's there. No mix and match.

At Big C Extra they are saling Casino (house brand) 85 percent chocoate 100 gram chocolate bars for 59 baht. For bars with the same cocoa content from Tanzania the price is 79 baht. They do use real cocoa butter in the bars but I haven't tried them so I can't comment on the flavor.

I noticed a smallish sign on the glass there, saying something like (it may not be exact wording)

Our Granny Smith's and Gala apples do not come from (I think the name was) Biden Bros

They are export quality and fit for human consumption

Anyone shed some light on this?

For some people, pretty much all they taste when eating or drinking is the flavor of less baht spent.

I went to the Saturday market Nana Jungle (google: nana jungle chiang mai, first hits will also lead you to google maps) but I am not sure if this is the market discussed above.

The bread they are selling at Nana Jungle you can also find in their regular bakery shops without the big waiting line at Nana Jungle. I did not return to Nana Jungle as the bread delivery did not arrive twice until 8.15 and the queue got too long so that you can no more get your preferred products. I only go now to their shops to buy the bread.

But it's a nice place to have a chat with some folks.

It only happens once a week and you have to be there at a time when you’d much rather be in bed, but the Saturday morning market at the Farang Farm is not to be missed if you’re a fan of farmer’s markets, delicious pastries or revitalizing herbal tonics. I,ve been doing that since I came to Thailand. Designed my own template on M Word for each months income and expenditure,thai and british banking ,so each month I can record a 'profit or loss"
