I am needing to ship about 10 CBM of personal items to Slovakia, Europe. I got a few quotes, Door to Door, packed in cartons (all soft goods, no electrical, no furniture etc) and the quotes are about THB 16,000 per CBM. That's 160,000 THB for 1/3 of a container!

Seems ridiculously high. Any idea what I should be paying?

Did you try asking for seafreight? (You need to pack different)

I just got quoted 90,000 and 114,000 for 10 CBM at 5,900 per CBM plus all the packing and trucking... to Miami. USA.

The quotes are LCL freight, Door to Door.

5900 thb per cbm to Miami door to door including packing is a decent price.

16,000 thb per cbm is really high... Even for Slovakia...

But off hand not sure about duty privileges in Slovakia.. Is this including duty and vat?

If so would ask them what the rules are for duty exemption and what portion of this is for duty and vat.. Or is this excluding any duty and vat?
