Hi everyone,

I am an exchange student at Chula on a Non-Ed multiple entry visa.

I thought that I would be leaving the country once in a while. But after a trip to Laos was cancelled, I need to extend my stay very soon.

Currently, I am admitted till Wednesday, September 17.

What is the easiest and cheapest way for me to get fresh 90 days?

a) Personally at the immigration office

c) Leaving the country (e.g. border trip to Cambodia for around 2000 THB)

You cannot do a 90 day report to immigration unless you have an extension of stay.

You will need to leave and re-enter the country to get another 90 days.

If you do no want to keep making trips out of the country you need to talk to the university about getting the paperwork to apply for an extension of stay.

Ohhh, that is not what I was hoping for, but great to know.

Are there any fees for getting the extension of stay? Is there a chance I can get it done before Wednesday?

The fee for an extension of stay is 1900 baht.

I don't think the university will be able to get the paperwork by Wednesday. You should talk to them about it.

Thanks for all the info. I actually found an old email from the university on the topic and they say they need 3-5 business days at the least. I will be leaving the country then.

Probably I will take the bus to Cambodia.

Out of curiosity: Is it fine if I do it on the last day (Wednesday) or should it be done before?
