pattaya_girl
I just heard from Adam Pickles Father on Facebook that the Court case is over, and Tinsley got off with it. Gutted to say the least ! https://www.facebook.com/groups/adampickles/861267400558116/?notif_t=group_comment_reply

Scully
It was reported in Drummond's blog that he has friends in the RTP and immigration. Looking at this verdict it rings true, disgusting.

MZurf
Wonder if they could crowdsource the funding of an appeal and an assurance of a just verdict? All it takes is money and I for one am willing to chip in to see justice done.
mrtoad
Yeah read it on The Blog site, absolutely disgusting.
dabhand
Is there still the possibility of an appeal - or does this decision lie within the flawed local legal system? Perhaps the British Embassy might grow a set and use the on-going Koh Tao case and the PM's miss-steps as a means to request a detailed review of this case. There is already pressure being exerted via AP's local MP to the UK Foreign Office, that needs to be linked, in some way, to the Koh Tao case to reach the right level. It should be an easier sell as the accused is a Brit. The only problem being those up the food chain who are obviously happy with the outcome, but, if the PM sees it as a serious PR issue, they may see their protection quickly dissipate. Yes, unlikely to happen, but the window of opportunity is small.
jackvale
My feeling is more of fear as there are some types who are connected so they are untouchable and can get away with murder.

davethailand
any news yet on why the judge let him off? Because he didn't think it was attempted murder?
NanLaew
Did Tinsley ever enter any plea? The unwitnessed attack maybe? The sparse reporting only suggests that the prosecution had cctv footage to present. Maybe it was inconclusive. As odious as the alleged perpetrator may be and horrendously, permanently disabled the victim is, the truth is still out there.
davethailand
I heard the CCTV was of the bar they were in but not on the road where the incident happened? then again If I had a pound for every rumour or story I'd heard whilst living in Pattaya. teacher
any news yet on why the judge let him off? Because he didn't think it was attempted murder? Obvious really, Lack of evidence and nobody has actually said "they saw what happened and, it was that person did it".

gk10002000
A few years ago President Junior Bush signed a law that meant that crimes that are against the USA laws that a USA citizen commits overseas is the same as a crime committed in the USA and they could be prosecuted in the USA. Does the UK have something similar? I feel bad if the Pickles family has to rely on a Thai court for anything. They don't have any concept of justice or hearings, or trials, or evidence, or rebuttals, etc.
NanLaew
Isn't is strange that none of the many local Pattaya rags reported his recent court appearance in Chonburi and the outcome? Note that he has applied for bail and has 60-days to appeal so there's a way to go yet.

Asiantravel
after all the work they did getting that guilty verdict I just hope they don't let him out on bail during the appeal process. He has already tried to change his name and passport details before and guaranteed this kind of guy would never stick around. He would get out of Thailand one way or another if they let him out
