Thai Visa for 3rd Entry ?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I am currently travelling through Asia, and would be grateful for any opinions on my Thai Visa options.

I flew into Bangkok from Rome on the 26th July, and got a 1 month Tourist Visa on arrival, valid until 24th August.

I then flew from Bangkok to Tokyo on the 20th August, and returned on the 27th August. I again got a 1 month Tourist Visa on arrival, valid until 25th September.

I am currently travelling overland by train from Bangkok to Laos, and intended to spend some time in Laos, and then possibly travel to Vietnam from there, and back to Bangkok. Travelling by flight back to Bangkok is fine. Alternatively, I considered possibly trying to extend my Visa in Laos? But I'm not sure, as that would be a 3rd entry into Bangkok, if they can issue a 1 month Visa again?

Does anyone know if I can get at least a 1 month tourist Visa again on a 3rd entry, arriving by either flight or overland?

I'm genuinely doing a sight seeing tour of Asia, and using Bangkok as my base. I'm just worried that I might not get another 1 month tourist Visa as that would be my 3rd entry i.e. it might look like a Visa run scenario? I booked an open return flight to Bangkok, which is valid for up to 1 year, but is necessary that I fly out of Bangkok.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance..

David

All these 30 days entries you got are called "visa exemption". Not "tourist visa" and not "visa on arrival".

You can do that again because you do not do visa run, you travel around and stay away for a time before returning.

Music to my ears :) Thank you mein herr.

Hi,

What is the minimum time required to stay away when receicing the tourist "visa exemption"s for 30 days? I am travelling Thailand on this type of visa exemtion, but will now want to travel and stay for 60-90 days. My (foreign) wife and I are both enjoying travelling around here.

Thank you

There is no fixed number on how long you need to stay out if you have stayed for the entire 30 days and immediately returning for another entry is what they consider a in/out visa run.

If you were to be out of the country for just a few days it would be allowed.

If you want to stay more than 30 days you can get a 30 day extension at immigration (new rules).
