I am planning on going to laos to get a tourist visa in october. i am a american, i have gotten one tourist visa in the states and then a 30 transit at airport and then extended. is it possible i will be denied tourist because i have done tourist and then transit? it said on the laos thai embassy site that if i am suspected of taking advantage of the system i will need to prove an itinerary? should i bring that or anything else with me? i have no planes or flight to leave thailand yet as i am trying to find work. if i should bring itinerary could it be written by me or would it need to be copy of official one? at the boarder of laos i must pay a fee for 30 visa on arrival, that is in us dollars as well as the fee at the embassy for visa? when i go for tourist visa should i stay for a week or only as long as i need to get visa and come back? will it be considered suspicious if i do a border run? the embassy site has a downloadable application for tourist visa, i can use that to apply with right? and download it before hand? it takes one day to process visa but if they decide i need more proof or they are not happy about something i will have to start over right? so should i book a hotel for like 4 days? thanks you for your help

Note the "30 transit at airport" is actually called "visa exempt entry".

There is no reason you will be denied a tourist visa in Laos or any other place.

All the your questions are answered in full details in the many many threads about visa run, if you could take the time to read them, they are pinned at the top of the forum, or just search like "vientane" or "savvankhet".
