Popular Post rethaier
What, no conspiracy theories on this one? You all really do believe it was an accident? But you had to slag the Thai who did not turn up, how bloody infantile and pathetic.
petercool
A few off topic posts removed with a reply to one and one that was insensitive speculation. The Thai man who did not turn up is part of the article but not the main point of the tragedy and in reality not the cause. Two people could have fallen through the roof had he turned up. Another insensitive post removed. Also note that this is NOT about the now bereaved wife.

Triplebank999
My condolences to his 23 year old wife... hopefully she can get over her tragic loss... Your condolences would have sounded sincere if you hadn't gratuitously mentioned her age. Instead your comment now sounds like asinine sarcasm. Gunna
How or why did the journalist change the man from Danish to Belgian as in the original article - maybe Thai geography. At least he copied the girlfriend's age correctly

draftvader
Sad story. Everybody has their time though. Truth is that in Thailand you HAVE to think twice before attempting ANY maintenance. Always isolate any electrical circuit you are working on, even a light fitting for a light bulb change. It often doesn't come down to poor workmanship buy poor materials. Plastering items with ISO, UKAS and similar standards doesn't actually make them comply! If any good is to come from this it should be increased caution from all of us left here. Assume nothing when attempting maintenance here and know when it is best to pay for help...even if it means waiting for it!
