PBTA urges water conservation

PATTAYA:--The Pattaya Business & Tourism Association urged members to promote water conservation as a key city reservoir dries up.

President Sinchai Wattanasartsathorn noted that the Mabprachan Reservoir was running dangerously low due to a dryer than normal rainy season. While Pattaya gets water from numerous sources, the lake is a key source of hard water for East Pattaya and the drought is putting pressure on the Provincial Waterworks Authority to continue to supply all the water the city needs.

PBTA advisor Sa-nga Kitsamret said Pattaya uses about 220,000 cu. meters of water a day on weekends and holidays, putting a strain on the entire system.
