Prefer quiet so even motel type bungalows, trad hotels, quiet resorts not karaoke sexpat places thank you.

Not far from main road happt to do a 2-5km detour for exceptional places in Loei Den Sai Chiang Khan.

A pool be good but nort essential nor aircon tv just off road secure parking and not to many steps/

I thought you were looking for the archaeological sites!

There is a small resort just outside of Na Haeo that sounds like what you're looking for. The resort is on the road heading west from town, maybe 1/2 km out of town. It's well maintained and clean with individual bungalows and secure parking, probably right in front of your room. Very reasonably priced too. I don't remember the name, if it even had one in English and there is no English spoken. Definitely very quiet. when I was there in early January I was the only guest.

The downside is that the town exists solely because there is a local border crossing to Laos. Everything in town closes by 5:00-6:00pm though you should have no trouble getting snacks from one of the livingroom storefronts. There are no restaurants open in the evening.
