hotel recommendation bath free wi fi

Can anyone recommend a good hotel (3 or 4 star) not too far from the centre of Chiang Mai that has baths in the rooms along with free Wi Fi? Thanks

One of the more intriguing posting headlines.

I was not sure if the hotel had to be 'bath free', have a 'free bath', have 'free wi fi', have 'free wi fi in the bath' or a combination of all! (No offence meant, just pulling your leg for how it appears - the odd apostrophe or hyphen would have helped!)

Being Thailand, baths are not a normal 'bathroom' accessory, as nearly everyone uses showers. I suspect some of either the older western type places or modern high priced hotels/spas may be the place for you.

P.S Why the bath requirement?

PPS EDIT (I have just had to edit this as some of my apostrphes above did not appear when I did a 'cut and paste' originally!)

Centara Duangtawan, but you need to make sure you get the rate that includes free Wifi (it's free in the lobby I believe).

I say that because sometimes they try and charge me for it, but I always insist that it's in the rate and they give it to me anyway.

And I use it for exactly the same reasons as you. Bath, Wifi - and in my case, location (just up from the junction of Loi Kroh and Night Bazaar, a few minutes from Panthip, etc.)

Sorry I meant it must have a bath, in the 15 years that I have lived here it is the one thing that I miss; not having a bath.

They do sell them at places like Global House and Noppadon Phanit you know.. You can arrange one including installation in about a week or two. That would have left 14 years and 50 weeks of enjoying baths. wink.png

Don't forget a high capacity water heater otherwise it takes an hour to fill up a big one. wink.png I had new pipes fitted, better pump and 10 kW heater. It almost seems I live in a civilized place now.

Let me share my bath with you:

This was an older house, blessed with a total of five bathrooms, all of them small. :/ Fitting a big tub required ripping out the door & frame and making it open the other way. That was fun.

But anyway, as for hotels, I sometimes find them in cheaper hotels too. But then some quite fancy boutique hotels may lack them. It's a bit hit and miss but if you trawl through the pictures on Agoda then I'm sure you'll find bathroom shots so you know what to expect. VERY worth it for the winter months weeks.

YES! And it goes through its ups and downs. They had another renovation not too long ago, and was drawing some people again.

sorry. o/p.. over looked the disco din,ask for a higher floor,

i stayed there only 10 days ago,18th floor deluxe room at 1000 baht incl b/f , again very good price for the location etc etc

winnie..back in the middle eighties the larger disco(main road side) was a hostess v.i.p lounge

back in those days there were only two bars or so in town , naturally shopping was at a preminium

made my time at the v.i.p. lounge, absoulately glamours were the hostesses, but you had to play a good game, and be well heeled, not to mentioned suitably attired (no shorts/t shirts etc etc)

great memories of the old pornping, and thats where the nite bazzar first started(next door),and then found its way to the main drag etc etc

a nice morning to allbiggrin.png

The PornPing is a rubbish dump, they're still using the bedding they bought when they opened it.

They've been promising to refurb for years but they think they can sell it without upgrading it.

The breakfast is awful, the swimming pool is pitiful. The service is worse than abysmal.

But yes, the car park is good.

Must say in my experience at normal moderate priced tourist hotels in Chiang Mai (and elsewhere) have never encountered a room without a bathtub. Only at cheapest non tourist places has this happened. But never use as the image of enjoyment from wallowing in your own dirt does not appeal (last took that path in Japan; but at least there you entered the water clean). Even hate taking a shower in one as the 'slip and die' was well ingrained as a child. Unless a medical need would avoid.

But as have not traveled there for many years, and know there are a bunch of new wave type places in the Tune Hotel mode perhaps am wrong about current number of baths available.

Just stayed at the Park hotel, decent hotel and had a lovely soak in the bath last night. About a mile from the night bazaar,we got it for 1,000 per night.
