ESPN reporting that Aguero is about ready to go and could see some time Monday. Also, Nastasic reportedly making quicker progress with his ankle and might be available next weekend.

Good news all !clap2.gif

Good news jd but Aguero hasn't had any pre season time yet has he? Might be a bit too soon unless we go several goals into the lead.

Good point MrB. Maybe KUN is fit enough to be on the bench and come on to get a few minutes. I don't know what Negredo's status will be, but he ought to be able to play some at any rate. I see where he scored for Spain the other day.

Interesting about Dzeko. Is Pellegrini really interested in keeping him ? I could see where it could make sense to keep him between now and the end of the transfer window given Aguero not being completely fit. But, what if a club comes calling that didn't upgrade at striker as they had hoped ? Say Arsenal, or a number of others ? A tough call, and made a bit tougher given Dzeko's goals in preseason.

I don't know how Dzecko has blagged his way into Pellegrinis good books but he seems to have.

On another note I just read that Nevas brother Marcus has signed for Bury, so that should sort out any worries of him being homesick

I would like to see Joe Hart have a blinder...not that I think he's going to have too much to do.

It's something that happens, with some it's when they first arrive and need time to settle, with others it can be when it's least expected. I'm sure he was embarrassed by his overall performance at Wembley, but he needs to put that behind him and show what a great keeper he can be. Remy is a non starter for Newcastle and I doubt if they will do any better at The Etihad, than they have in the past.

Ruddy shame about Remy. Hart, lets see about that. Hodgson should drop him to the bench. Still hoping for a poor start from you guys....please?

Rumour has it that Gareth Barry might be off to Everton on loan due to the competition for places and he coming down the pecking order. I'd be happy with that move, he's lost too much pace.

Not a surprise. I'm sure he is not interested in wasting away on the bench. Better to keep Milner I think.

Totally different players. But it seems as though Milner has a chance of getting some time on the pitch, whereas Barry is back up to the back up, at best. I read somewhere that it was intended to move Barry onto our franchise in New York next year, so maybe a loan move would be the best for both parties. I still think Barry is the ultimate professional and although he is very slow nowadays, I do think that a lot of his hard work goes unannounced.

Nasri on the other hand, is like the Great Pretender.Seems he has lost all his confidence, just doesnt do it for me, on the pitch. The times I have seen him recently pre season, he just seems to slow Citys game down instead of threading through the key pass. Too much of a showboater. Plus he has a face that if he played for anyone else, I would just love to punchlaugh.png

Absolutely !! He can't be bothered to do any hard work or digging. I'd sell him at a loss and good riddance. He's exactly the type of player City needs to get rid of. Worthless poser.

But, not a bad idea though !

City will batter the barcodes tonight. Jovetic is going to be a revelation.

I'm with you ! Jovetic has really impressed me. He can play a bit back from the frontline, distribute and score. The perfect replacement for Tevez.

Where's Micah Richards out of interest?

He's part of the plan. Healthy and hoping to share time with Zabaleta at right back. Maybe fill in at CB in a pinch.

4-0 and a nice start. I hope Kompany is not too badly injured with what looked like a groin problem. Made worse by the fact that Lescott was shaky at best. Nastasic can't come back too soon. Everybody else looked good save for Dzeko, who was the misfiring Dzeko we know and find hard to love.

We were well and truly hammered

Mate, I have to disagree about Dzeko.

I am hardly his biggest fan but I thought he had a great game last night. For the first time in ages, he worked hard for the team. He made the first 2 goals and had a couple of decent efforts which in any other game would have been goals.

I thought Navas had an exceptional debut. He has an engine in him.

Its sad about Kompany. I thought he was unbelievable last night. I guess the best we can hope for is that he is back for the United game.

I think for sure we will now buy Demichelis. I think to be safe we need 2 more CB, because I dont think we can rely on Garcia as CB cover.

Just got back home an hour ago and so obviously missed the game. I'll be rummaging around the channels today looking for a replay. Very happy with the result but read that Garcia had to step in along side Lescott w00t.gif . We are now very thin on the ground at the back but hopefully Michah and Jovetic should be in very soon as they are apparently only minor injuries.

Also read glowing reports about Dzecko. Maybe Pellegrini is getting something from him that Mancini couldn't.

Just as I posted, Skynews showed the goals and most of the missed chances. Nice to see 4 goals by 4 different players showing that we don't have to rely on a couple of players to get us the goals.

Marvellous. I was a bit nervy before going on holiday as Abu Dhabi Sports lost (or didn't get) the Prem games for this season and we didn't know what was happening. Happy to say, it's all sorted out now and Al Jazeera got them. Just re-tuned the telly, went on to Al Jazeera web site and the City match is on Al Jazeera +10 in 30 minutes.

You're right Jack. I was too harsh on Dzeko. His misses stuck in my mind. He was very active and with a sweet backheel that led to Aguero's goal. I'd just like him to be on target more often.

Richards did a hammy in practice and supposed to be out about two weeks. Its the Kompany situation that is so worrisome. You could tell he knew it was bad and I fear we won't see him for awhile. Groin problems are slow to heal and Vinnie doesn't know how to play other than full tilt. Plus, Lescott, for me, was poor. Poor with the ball at his feet and poor decision making. He's a goal waiting to happen.

But, I'm too negative aren't I. A great start and the new fellows did very well. And we didn't even get to see Jovetic !
