muratremix
In first I thought it was because of weekend, now it is monday but I still get lower speed with my 35 (40) mbit True cable. KED
While I don't have you technical expertise - I can anecdotally confirm that I have experienced a notable slowdown in my internet over the last month or two at night - when downloading a video being especially slow. huanga
Yes. Same here. It appears that these companies are checking your usage time throughout the day and only provide you the bandwidth during your peak usage according to the package you subscribe. And do you guys lose internet or experience major slowdown when it rains?

billd766
My TOT Wiinet slowed to a walk late yesterday and still hasn't recovered .... That happend to me on Monday night so I called the local guys in Khampaeng Phet who didn't answer, then I called the TOT call centre about 10am and told them my problem. They told me that they would call KPP and I managed to get through to KPP about 11 and told them as well. I even got a callback from ToT central before lunch and my system was almost back to normal by the early afternoon. I have replaced the ToT modem, the lan cables, cleared the cache etc on my computer and I even did a system restore to a week earlier as well. I really have no idea what the problem is but the combination of what I did seemed to work. Try this website and see what results you get. http://www.speedtest.net/
vincent13
Thanks billd766. Have rung TOT call centre twice but as is customary they are very slow to address problems when reported. Can't even load the speedtest site to do a test!!! I yearn for the day when I have an option for an IP other than TOT.
billd766
Thanks billd766. Have rung TOT call centre twice but as is customary they are very slow to address problems when reported. Can't even load the speedtest site to do a test!!! I yearn for the day when I have an option for an IP other than TOT. I made up an excel sheet this year logging how many and what problems they were and what was done (if known) to fix them. It helps when you call them and say on xx xx xxxx I reported a problem, what are you doing about it? My worst problem here is lightning. It has taken out the tower head 3 times in 3 years, usually after hours on a Friday so nobody looks at it until Monday afternoon earliest. The team comes out, finds the head fried and reports it back. No spares are kept in Khampaeng Phet so they have to be shipped from BKK and with a bit of luck the site is back up late Wednesday. The lightning conductor on the tower is too short so instead of going down the copper bar to ground the lightning hits the head, fries it, and goes to ground that way. muratremix
Actually you guys were pinging to Cat's backbone. Here: http://speedtest-sfo1.digitalocean.com/ It also lists other digitalocean test domains. However, since last night, problems appear to be fixed. Which proves it was an internal / gateway router problem.
