TW and I will be visiting Phuket soon and looking for a good hotel around the 1500 Baht mark and of about the same quality as the Residence Garden in Pattaya (nice big rooms, swimming pool, A/C, good restaurant etc.) Oh and one more thing:- TW is very superstitious and does not want to be too close to the beach. ----- Bugger!!

Any recommendations before I visit Georges advertisers?

as its the low season there are plenty of bargains to be had - especially if you dont want to be near the beach

you will get better value if you look in the Karon / Kata area as well.........

The spa wing rooms are really nice and they've got a great pool. Its just off Rat-u-thit road (the 2nd road) and not from central Patong.
