I am flying with Qatar airways ,

Are digital cameras and I have 3 lens allowed in the cabin or does it have to go as checked baggage ?

I can remove the battery and send it as checked baggage

Any advice

Thanks

I'd be carrying them on ... without hesitation.

One day I was watching them transfer the luggage out the planes hold.

They were dropping some the bags over a metre ... facepalm.gif

Are you referring to the guy that threw his luggage on the tarmac David?

That was more than a meter....................

I always take either a digital camera or a gaypad into the cabin on flights. It is never a problem, however I do avoid photos which include identifiable aspects of the aircrew unless they specifically permit this.

I`ve never found it to be an issue.

Of about 14+ or so flights this year have carried a digital camera on board on all of them.

I use a Lowe-pro camera bag for my SLR digital and put that into my cabin carry-on suitcase. I don't let anybody else touch it and If it gets broken then it is my fault.

Depending on where you're flying FROM, make sure it's charged up, so if security ask you, you can switch it on. Some countries airports MIGHT ask for this.

Even worse than dropping bags, one time when I landed at the Johannesburg airport, I was casually looking out the window of the plane while waiting to disembark. I was shocked to see the baggage handlers opening passenger bags on the tarmac and helping themselves to whatever they wanted from the bags. They weren't even the least bit shy about it. I keep this image in mind should I ever feel the urge to put anything even remotely valuable in my checked luggage.

I have just made this mistake - to keep my hand luggage below 7kg,I placed my 2nd camera and quite old and out of order comp

in check-in bag. That bag was locked on good, strong padlock;all thing was wrapped.Disappeared without trace between KLiA2 and Bali.

It has happened 1st time in my life.I abandoned any hope.
