Quiet Place To Live in Thailand While Studying?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I can afford to spend around $2-4k per month to live off of and what I am seeking in particular, is to live in a beautifully scenic and very quiet place, while I can play grand piano and attend school that provides ED Visa. Somewhere that is within an hours distance from girlbars / restaurants./ shopping

Also how much do Grand Piano's, new or used cost in Thailand?

Have a look around Bang Na near the golf course, - some surprisingly quiet places there. Piano - shop on Sukkumvit near the Philippines Consulate not far from Emporium shopping centre. Has large range of new and used, and some for rent.

Alternatively, head north to Chiangmai. More scenic locations there. Don't know about piano shops. Third choice - Kanchanaburi.

Thanks, though I'm leaning more towards tropical / beach / river / mountain types of scenic.

In terms of clean, I heard Chiang mai has terrible air quality. Is that true?

Does quiet include a pick up blaring out thumping bass with a cat wailing on vocals ?

Quiet meaning almost secluded

Believe it or not, Udon Thani is pretty nice. A lot of nice girls up there, despite the reputation. I thought Chiang Rai was kinda boring. Chiang Mai is still nice, but getting overloaded with tourists. Kanchanaburi is the place though. 2 hours from BKK. Quiet, but enough going on. Scenic too.

OP, come and live in Issan where I live.

1. The air is very clear, except when all the neighbours light their fires.

2. It's very quite, except when all the soi dogs start barking and howling.(Usually all day and night)

3. Plenty of pretty girls around, the only thing you will be forced to get married to one otherwise the relatives will hang you by the balls.

4. Very tropical looking.......nobody cleans his empty land so you can't even step in there.

5. We have a river near us, called the "She" river, the water is nice and brown.

6. We have a lake also.....you can go swimming if you don't mind be covered with leaches.

Did I forget anything?

Ahhh the grand piano.......you can rent one but be careful when you bring it here the villagers will think it's the doomsday machine.

That's all, you are welcome to come any time.
