AirAsia confirmed this week it is increasing the number of flights connecting Bangkok to Cambodia’s tourism hub, Siem Reap.

Starting December 1, the Asian airline giant will operate three flights daily, up from the current two flights a day.

“We hope that the extra flight services will help meet increasing demand and provide guests with a greater choice of travel times,” Pornpun Ratanapitakkul, marketing manager of AirAsia said.

“We are delighted to announce the additional flight options between Siem Reap and Bangkok from two flights to three flights daily by December this year.”

During the first nine months this year, Siem Reap received more than 1.7 million foreign tourists, an increase of 10 per cent compared to same time last year, according to the latest government figures.

Ratanapitakkul said AirAsia aims to further capitalise on Cambodia’s growing tourism market.
