The Gay Dictionary - taking a Straight Approach

The Gay Dictionary - taking a Straight Approach

Over the years, you guys have taught me a lot.

If I need to know something about the Gay Community, I simply read or ask here.

I've learnt that some Gays bleach their sphincters to appear more attractive ... w00t.gif

Terms such as 'Rice and Potato Queens'.

So, I'm curious* ... what terms does the Gay Community use for us 'Straights'?

Are we even called 'Straights' ?

Does the terminology differ if used in public as opposed to that used in a private conversation?

Different terms for a WASP as opposed to a Straight Asian?

No need to be PC with the replies ... the nasty less complementary words/terms are worth knowing as well.

Over to you ...

* no, not like that ... laugh.png

.

Breeders. It encompasses their sole raison d'etre as far as scientific research is able to determine.

And that pretty well sums up all the important information ... at least all that you're probably capable of comprehending.

I call them people.

I like them, I came from two of them.

Gay dictionary can't be approached with a straight face, much less a straight approach.

Holders of heterosexual privilege.

Somehow I am both serious and joking at the same time!

What are you referring to?

The OP?

Another posters comment?

How I refer to "straights." That was the original question, right?

If I'm writing academically, I call them "those with heterosexual privilege." I don't normally do so in normal conversation, so I was half joking here.

It's not really very mysterious at all.

If referring to the majority orientation, which isn't usually needed to refer to it all because face it, even sexual minority people often just ASSUME people are straight unless they give clues they are not ... because that is MOST PEOPLE in the world. DUH!

Exceptions would be in localities where lots of sexual minority people live, of coruse.

Some super PC will be offended by what I just said, but I don't care, it IS the truth.

Straights (most common)

Heteros

Heterosexuals

Commonly used slurs for this are NOT abundant

Breeders of course (I don't use it, it's crass)

As above, from Caitrin, sure in discussions where reference to heterosexual privilege is needed to communicate the concept.
