NLA elects five charter writers

BANGKOK: -- The National Legislative Assembly today have elected five members to join the Constitution Drafting Committee.

Earlier on Wednesday, the National Reform Council elected 20 members to undertake the drafting of a new charter.

The five charter writers representing the NLA are: Mr Disathat Hotrakit, secretary-general of the Council of State; Mrs Kanchanarat Siviroj, a member of the Council of State; Mr Preecha Watcharaphai, former secretary-general of Civil Service Commission; Mr Wutthisak Larpcharoensap, rector of Ramkhamhaeng University; and General Yodyuth Bunyathikarn, chairman of agriculture and cooperatives committee of the NLA.

Five other assemblymen who missed out are General Somjate Boonthanom, Mr Thaveesak Suthokvathin, General Niwat Sripen, Mr Pattharasak Wannasaeng and Mr Pramut Sutabutr.

So those five guys were elected from a group of people elected from another group of people, who was appointed!!

With this fair process, no doubt we will see a charter looking out for the interest of all Thai people!!sad.png

thought they elected the brothers "Grimm"-the outcome would be the same...

Next step will be to set up a subcommittee to find a supplier of oversized crayons so that they can write the charter.

This really shouldn't take long, take the 1997 Constitution, pencil in "No member of the Shinawatra family, or proxy thereof may hold any political position". "No person that cannot explain their wealth or has been convicted of a crime may run for, or take political office". Job done.
