KRABI: -- Krabi provincial harbour officials will take tough action against business operators who have defied an order of the National Council for Peace and Order to remove their illegally-built shelters from the beaches on Phi-Phi islands.

Mr Boonchao Tangsiripaisarn, director of the harbor office in Krabi, said today (Tuesday) that the defiant operators had been notified three times already to move out but they have persistently resisted the removal order.

He warned that the defiant operators would face arrest this time if they do not move out of the beaches.

The eviction of illegally-built shelters or shops on beaches throughout the country was one of the first priorities ordered by the NCPO to maintain order and cleanliness on the beaches and to open up more space on the beaches for tourists.
