I wrote earlier on the Forum about an abbot at a nearby temple who set the amplifier at maximum and started his chant prayer at 3:30 each morning (and the same every night. Despite Thaivisas censorship (afraid of getting a bad spell?) where a lot of comments. The majority wrote that it is just to pack up and move. But ......... I found a better solution. Called 1111, Prayuts or military hotline and got talking to a very sympathetic, skilled "support". Told us that unfortunately, a Buddha can start their prayers already at 4:00, but with a very limited level. If doubtful, 1111 send out a sound technician with equipment to measure the dB. If too loud they tell the Buddha to lower the volume. "Our" Buddha has reduced the volume to a tolerable level after calls from 1111 and start nowadays after 4:15. In other words, there is hope of a life even after moving to Thailand

Glad to hear this worked out. I would have never guessed that it would. Congratulations and well done.

Dont forget you must respect all religions, 4.15am is still a stupid hour and why do Non believers in "his" religion have to hear him? No reason it cant be done silently.

Of course I expect no locals will agree with any of what Ive said and Ill no doubt be asked to leave Thailand or why Im here etccoffee1.gif

The other religions do it for 5 or 10 minutes maximum, that's a big difference to me.
