BANGKOK: -- A man has been arrested under suspicion of setting fire to a television assembly plant in Kabin Buri district of Prachin Buri on the night of November 6.

Witnesses said the suspect, 36-year Chinnakorn Prom-on, claimed that he was responsible for torching the factory of Thai Harbel Industry which assembled television sets.

Police said that video footage showed that Chinnakorn, a worker at the factory, entered the compound of the factory before it caught fire. Evidence from the video footage and statement from co-workers about the suspect’s claim of setting fire to the premise prompted the police to seek a court’s warrant for his arrest, police added.

Earlier on November 5, police said Chinnakorn was reprimanded by his boss for drinking in the factory and was told to take a rest at his lodging outside the premise.
