November 11, 201411 yr Hi, I am in the process of having a room built, and would like to add in a proper skylight. The builder suggested a hole in the ceiling with a piece of plexi glass over it - that does the job, but I'm wanting something that is more "legit". Something like this: http://philadelphiaroofsrus.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/skylight.jpg and http://www.barrowconstruction.co.uk/wp-content/themes/barrowconstruction/images/kitchens/kitchen-skylight.jpg I went to my local homeprop and homeworks store and they looked at me like I was from another planet... Any/all help would be REALLY appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!!! Best!
November 12, 201411 yr Unless you have first hand recommendations, I wouldn't install any skylights in my place if you don't have spare water buckets and an large umbrella in the house... don't trust those Thai contractors, for them a skylight is as useful as a snow plow...
