There have been some rumours and I need them cleared up by people who have experience and know!

I recently acquired my Non-B Imm. and my work permit here in Chiang Mai. I am getting a break for Christmas and intend to travel out of the country. Someone mentioned I can travel out once and re-enter without going to CM Immigration, is this true? I have yet to do my 90 day report, that would happen when I am out of the country - so I assume I go before I leave to check in?

I would appreciate any helpful advice.

You need to get a re-entry permit before you leave or you will loose your extension (it is not a visa) when you return. A single re-entry permit costs 1000 baht and a multiple 3800 baht.

There is no one time trip allowed.

You do not have to make reports of staying longer than 90 days in the country if you are not here that long. If you leave before your report is due your report would be due 90 days from the date you enter the country.
