The two motorbikes burn fiercely in front of The Super Cheap store.

PHUKET: A high-voltage cable fell to the ground last night (November 13), incinerating two parked motorbikes in front of the Super Cheap shop on Chao Fa West Rd.

The incident, at around 7:30pm, also blacked out the local area until repairs could be made.

A Super Cheap employee told police that, at that time, the parking area was full of customers’ vehicles and three-wheelers selling food.

“We heard a bang and saw the cable fall, spraying sparks everywhere.

“As everyone rushed to move their vehicles, the sparks hit the Super Cheap workers’ motorbikes and the fire build up from there.”

Three Tambon Wichit fire trucks arrived and as soon as power to to faulty wire was cut, set to ensuring the flames that consumede the bikes and climbed up the cable did noit spread to nearby buildings. It took them about 20 minutes to put the fire out.

Yeah, blame a faulty cable, its more than likely the lack of maintenance i would say.

Just lucky that nobody was sitting on the bikes.

How could that happen? The electrical wireing, always looks so organized and well maintained. ?
