philipinphuket
I have a Spanish Nokia mobile phone I wish to unlock so I can use a Thai simcard. Does anyone know who can do this for me in Phuket (have tried tech' shop in Big C but they say they need a special program to do) ..?

Guest
It would help to know which model the device is. The older Nokia models used to be flashed using the contacts underneath the battery and those used to require special hardware along with the flashing software. I guess it's fair to say that the antique shops would be good place to start finding those I'm not sure if the BigC / Jungceylon / Central festival little shops still have ability to flash the old phones. With newer models re-flashing the firmware with localization package might be possible to do at home via the USB port. http://www.nokiarevolution.com/how-to-flash-your-nokia-device-via-phoenix-usb-dead-flashing/

philipinphuket
Thanks, will try Jungceylon tomorrow ... Yes I know it a 2 year old phone and cannot do what a tiny percentage of new generation smartphones but I have all the internet access I need on my pc and laptop without triplicating everything. Have tried using friend's smartphones on occasion and cannot even manage to make or receive a simple call or take a photo without pressing the wrong button and then I am lost as to where to start again. Technology is advancing far ahead of me ...!!!
keestha
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=guCdkFNBEyI Please watch the video above. I think it's in a European language. Portuguese, not a very helpful language for most of us. I have a Russian mobile I didn't manage to unlock, will take it to Jungceylon next time I hit Patong.
