Kamala Bay Terrace Resort

I was wondering if anyone knew what has happened to the Kamala Bay Terrace resort :D

I have stayed there a number of times and see that it is still closed since the tidal wave. Anyone have further information on what is going on with the resort? Is it open or closed down or what.

Any insight would be helpful.

Actually, this resort was closed after the destruction of the Tsunami, and is currently undergoing extensive renovation and will re-open in October 2007 as a high-end boutique "romantic" resort, will have private "infinity pools" in the villas, etc..

One of the best beach restaurants in Phuket is right next door, listed in Fodor's for years as one of best in Phuket.

To see interview last year with Gary Murray, Chief Executive Officer or CEO, of Destination Properties Company, which bought the Kamala Bay Terrace Resort, that was ruined by the tsunami, and plans to renovate it as ALiLA Phuket Resort by 2007.
