I am thinking of moving to Thailand with my partner, so I'm curious about attitudes to gay people.

I've read mixed reviews on some sites. A lot of people have told me to beware.

But the real-life experiences I've read on this forum seem to be mostly very positive.

Are you all having a good time?

Is there anything I need to bear in mind?

If you're coming with your partner and wish to live openly as gays, you may not get one bit of trouble from any Thais, but some farang (Westerners) might give you some grief.

There are more things for single men to be aware of, but yeah, I'd say we're happy. :D:D:D:o

Westerners giving more grief than the Thais... that sounds about right! :o

What about outside the cities? Is it still quite relaxed there? I'm not sure where we'll end up yet - we're still looking around. (Any tips? We want somewhere that's fairly near a city but outside the city limits, quite rural ideally, beautiful, peaceful...)
