Arriving to Bangkok airport 30 of December wonder if most traffic is over by then .I normally take a taxi from there , if traffic is bad they will charge me . puchooay
That is likely going to be the worse day. 31st is a Wednesday and a holiday ,as is Thursday 1st. My guess is the the government will announce a public holiday on 2nd to make it a long weekend of 31,1,2,3 and 4th.
meatboy
do you know there is a bus service that leaves the airport for korat 9pm. as this will be one of the yrs.worst time to travel on the road i would guess a taxi will want double, unless you use the same driver every time thats ok.but sitting in a taxi with a stranger on your own,NO THANK YOU. KhunBENQ
Jan 2nd has already been announced as an extra public holiday. ("five day New Year holiday", Dec 31, Jan 1,2,3,4) http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/Cabinet-approves-five-day-New-Year-holidays-30244532.html Dec 30 going north from Bangkok? ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! Stay where you are. Enjoy a relatively quiet Bangkok city. 31st is the first official holiday. Stampede will begin on Dec 30 afternoon/night or earlier. Just checked some flights to Khon Kaen on Dec 30: not completely booked yet, but heavy booked, double prices compared to off-season. Dec 30 heavier booked than 31. KhunBENQ
will ask taxi driver how bad it is 6 am in the morrning cheers...... 6am im the morning might work out. ask him the price first,est.8hrs.to korat,my guess 5,000bht. 8 hours would be with heavy traffic then! Suvarnabhumi to Korat is 260 km all on motorways or 4 lane highways. With normal traffic well below 4 hours. 5000 Baht? Also a bit over the top for this distance.
