Harrasment of the tourists article

Featured Replies

This is rotten to the core.

And this amongst other things is going to get some serious airplay.

Why?

Because Thailand decided to throw out thousands of long term falangs on tourist visas - and turn the lives of mostly benign and pro Thailand folks into sworn enemies.

Doubtless in their millions of emails, social media postings and blogs, they will no longer be inclined to show Thailand in a good light. To the contrary, at every opportunity they will likely promote its every lousy feature and report.

This is a somewhat new development in Bangkok. I got stopped about a month ago at 2:30am in a taxi with the gf. Asked me to get out of taxi and checked my pockets and asked a few questions, where are you going?, where have you been? How long you stay I. Thailand ? ..... They didn't ask my gf anything or even ask her to get out of Taxi. 20 years in Thailand and this is the second time but this time they were looking at farangs .... Not sure what to think ???

Exactly the same thing happened to me.

Police officer on his own asked me out of the taxi and asked same questions. He put his hand in one of my pockets and I asked what he was doing. I think he could see I wasn't drunk and I was on the ball.

I often think back to that event and think "God, if I was drunk, was he going to plant something on me?"

they not search blacks, who sells drugs on street in area... u get me

They do but it's normally a sting operation with a small army of them to get them to IDC and booted out of Thailand if possible. With the size of Niger. compared to a Thai it's normally a mob-handed mission if you catch my drift.

Thats apply 2 the ines who dont pay protection moneys only....
