ryanhull
Hey All, After getting a large catering oven sent from the uk, I would imagine it weights around 20kg, it is a specialist oven so I cannot buy it (searched everywhere) here but the cheapest quote I have had to send over is 300 pounds, does anyone know of a cheaper option to send such large items over? Cheers
bigjules007
Are you sure thats the right weight? Does'nt seem heavy enough for a large catering oven, the oven i used to have was lpg, and weighed around 150kg, It was all Stainless Steel and was around 120cm wide with 8 gas burners, i bought it from a place in Udon Thani. Cost around 25000 Baht but this was around 10 years ago.
crazygreg44
Bet you can get this kinda ovens here for the price of buying at home and have it sent over. Minus the hassle with customs. Anyways, what's a 'catering oven' ? Wanna make a pizza ? Pizza ovens need top heat and lower heat to be adjustable, or just hot enough to do the job ( 380 lower heat and up to 280 from the top ) for a 5 minute pizza. Anything larger . . in Bangkok there are several suppliers of gastronomy size ovens . . .. goooooglaa is your friend Edited November 30, 2014 by crazygreg44

JeremyBowskill
You will be at the mercy of whatever figure customs whack on it. I imported a cold smoker from America last week and got stung for 50% of purchase price. I wouldn't bother, plenty of ovens here that will do the trick or you could easily get it replicated at a metal shop. Was a chef for 2 decades and restaurant owner for a further decade, not an uniformed opinion.
