Hi all, I have to have a medical for medical and accident insurance, forms attached, can these tests be done at my local doctors or is it a hospital job, idea of cost would be appreciated!

It requires Xray, EKG and lab tests so would need to be in a hospital or large clinic with its own lab and imaging facilities. I don't know where you live, but most private hospitals offer very reasonably priced check up packages that would cover most or all of the tests required and that would probably be the most economical way of doing this. Basic check-up packages inclusive of CXR, EXG and probably all the required blood tests except PSA and C-reactive protein run around 2,500 baht; these 2 tests added one and you're looking at perhaps 3,000 baht or so, depending on hospital.

Cheers, this medical with all the tests listed would only cost approx 3000฿?

Approximately, depending on which hospital. Suggest you look at the websites of the various private hospitals, they all list check-up packages. You'd be looking at a low end package and then adding on the PSA and C-reactive protein.

Thanks Sheryl, I'm in Phuket so I will use Phuket international hospital as that is where I have been before, I will just give them the form and ask them to do what is listed! Edited by Badrabbit

Oh, Phuket. That may mean higher price, the international hospitals there cost more than in Bkk.

Suggest trying Mission Hospital first.

And be sure to go to the health check-up dept, not the general desk. If you see a doctor and order the tests "a la carte" it will cost a lot more. You want to be sure to get a package.

\Do not klet them choose the package for you or they may steer you to an unnecessarily expensive one that includes more than you need. For example, the only packages that include PSA usually also include stress tests and other things geared towards older men. And would cost a lto more than getting a low end package and "adding on" the PSA test. You need to take the time to review the cost and content of the check-up packages yourself.

Would suffering from Migraines be a problem when applying for medical insurance, I have had them for over 45 yrs, for quite a few years now they are quiet migraines, only symptom is visual disturbance, no headache and no sickness, they are brought on by eating and drinking dairy products in particular Cheese, Chocolate, Ice cream and milk!

Probably note but be sure to include it if the application form asks. Usually for anything to which you give a positive answer, there is then space for providing details and that is where you can explain that it is mild migraine related to food allergies and (hopefully?) well controlled with diet and/or (if applicable) meds.
