Debauchery seems to be Egyptian legal code for gay activities.

If this were Thailand, they would have a re-enactment of the crimes. I'd like a copy of that video.

On a more serious note, the situation for gays in that part of the world remains disturbingly stressful.

Sad to read stories like this..

I have been to Cairo, and went to the ''Museum'' , to do the touristy visit.

The Security Guard there, followed me about, and it made me quite on edge, just as i was away to walk out the door after my tour..

He approached me, and made it quite clear , what his interests were...

I was taken a back, big time, but then after a few days in ''Cairo'', it was obvious that , there is a lot of deprived men going around, i did not feel safe, everywhere i went, there was hastle of some sort, put me off for sure..

So sad that while many countries are giving their gay citizens equal rights so many other countries still persecute and arrest some of their citizens simply for who they love.

The men charged with debauchery have been cleared.... a surprise move but a very welcome one.
