mattk1
Hi guys, I listed a guitar on a couple of Thai websites for sale and my wife took a call from a guy in Bangkok who has offered full asking price. The problem is he wants me to send it to him in Bangkok (we are in Khon Kaen) and I'm not sure how to go about this safely in terms of keeping the guitar safe and also him not scamming me in the process. The guitar is boxed but not in a hard case and I worry about sending it without it being damaged. Also although he's offered full asking price I need to make it clear that he will need to cover the cost of sending it. Has anyone here recently sold something in this way before? I would much rather a buyer collect and pay cash but so far this is the only interest we've had in it. Any tips much appreciated. Thanks!
CharlieH
He could claim damage on receipt. How has it been paid for ? If using paypal or similar I wouldnt do it. If he has paid directly into your account you have no worries.
mattk1
Hi CharlieH, Thanks for your reply :-) He hasn't paid anything yet. I will instruct him to pay direct to my bank account if he's still interested so to avoid what you said about damage claims. If it is damaged then insurance should cover it. It seems more hassle than it's worth doesn't it, lol :-)
eldragon
Gosh, for something like that I'd just ask the guy if he can wait until the next time you or someone you trust is going to BKK. Or see if he's coming your way anytime soon.
