I hope they all have a proper work permit.

I hope they all have a proper work permit.

Oh, but this is not necessary for Russians in Thailand, as they enjoy a special privileged status here.

As for the translation service could it be just a way to streamline the process of donations to BIB from Russian citizens?

^^^

Translators and/or other volunteers officially recognised by the police or the court etc. do not need work permits to carry out duties approved by the relevant authority.

Those assigned to Soi 9 police station daily are issued with police ID's and are the only salaried ones.

hope the mods are right about the no need for work permit ... is the police offering that?

tought that was a case for immigration + labour department

As stated, no work permits are issued as these are not required for translators officially recognised by - and doing specified tasks for - the police.

It does not allow them to do non-related things for any fee, however.

I think you will find that petercool is speaking from personal experience as a local rather than in his role as a mod. If you look at his previous posts you will find he is a wealth of knowledge regarding local police procedures amongst other things.

Gotta hand it to the Russians. They do organise themselves much better than the rest. Although, I am not sure why they need so many local Russian language channels on btv.

Some of my fellow citizens are able to create problems even where they are no have
