varun
Hi Guys, Since I haven't flown/returned from DMK ever since Swampy, do they x-ray baggages upon arrival/after clearing immigration for every passenger? As I recall, Swampy customs do random x-ray's upon arrival, but not everyone. I've bought a pair of second-hand speakers in China, but am apprehensive of being knocked up for duty. What would be the best course of action? Declare the goods?
yankee99
Just let them xray they aren't looking for stuff like that. Ive brought all kinds of stuff which was xrayd and never a question. Bring a receipt if you really worried.
varun
Cheers. My only apprehension is that the speakers are metal (alluminium alloy-based) , so that might invite their attention. Having said that, how is customs at DMK upon arrival? Do they do random spot checks?

soloman
I have entered DMK international about 20 times in last 12 months. Never had baggage xrayed. But then again I have only had baggage xrayed at Swampy once out of 50 entries.
impulse
I suspect the fact they are second hand would get you waved through, even in the very unlikely event they x-rayed them. Most of the international travelers I speak with recommend taking anything brand new out of the box to cross a border with it. Pack them carefully, but not in the original box. ravip
Most times, the problem arises if you bring stuff in commercial quantities. If you bring a electric shaver in its original packing, I guess no country's customs is going to make a fuss. But bring 20... you sure would have an issue.
