Total sympathy to her, and I hope she has success with the cops actually doing something about the case (perhaps the story in the newspaper will at least get them to pretend like they're doing something?).

As someone who grew up in the city, sitting alone distracted at night in area where there aren't other people is pretty much an invitation to a mugging. There may have been a time when doing that in Pattaya was perfectly safe, but those times have changed. Not to blame the victim here, but sometimes I wanna ask, "What were you thinking??"

Easy answer. Nothing in it for them as they would rather hassle scooter riding expats. I was stopped three times on Thursday and each time, having produced my Thai license I was allowed to continue on my way. The license could have been out of date but it was not examined.

Seems to be a setup to me. Sorry about the woman trying to do her job, The Perps are probably on the Cop's known criminals list but they are too afraid to tackle them.

"Seems to be a setup to me."

Based on what? And idioticic speculation doesn't count

Ummmm ..... unsolved crimes are a high percentage of total in any country and that does not indicate that police did nothing about them.

Ummmm...if you bother to read the link you'll see that so far the police have not started an investigation into the incident, there is a difference between unsolved crimes and allegedly taking no action.

"The incident was caught on security cameras and the footage was handed to Pattaya Police who have, as yet, not opened an investigation into the assault and robbery."

If you can't indulge in intelligent debate put your foot back in your mouth.

How did these muggers know this woman had money? She doesn't look affluent.
