Toknarok
My step son surprised me this evening when he arrived he had something under his shirt. "Hey Daddy look at this". It was a field rat, I was somewhat reluctant totake hold of it but it was amazeingly tame. Noproblems at all in handling the thing, it didn't try to run when placed on the floor, all it seemed interested in was consuming the cold rice and fruit being offered. Not a bad looking creature actually, it looks somewhat like a rat, but with smaller ears and broader face. The tail was twice as long as its body. I,ve seen them butchered at the market, some must weigh well over 1kg.I have tried the meat, it's somewhat sweet but tasty, however one cannot get out of ones mind that it comes from a rat like creature. Not sure whether my step son is merely feeding it up for the table. Has anyone ever kept one of these creatures as a pet? This one was about half grown, people keep guinea pigs and hampsters, can't see much difference really.
