One of two suspects arrested in recent North Pattaya assault case

PATTAYA: -- Banglamung Police announced on Tuesday the arrest of a 25 year old man wanted in connection with a vicious assault on a female tour guide who was kicked in the head before being robbed of valuables in North Pattaya.

The assault occurred on the night of 16th December and resulted in facial injuries sustained to Khun Nidaporn aged 50, who was sitting on a step, preparing paperwork, when two men on a motorbike approached and the passenger approached the woman, kicked her in the head and stole 3 mobile phones and 2,000 Baht in cash. The assault was captured on security cameras but initially Police appeared disinterested in investigating the case until the story was published by the local media.

Police arrested the main suspect, Khun Kom, at a rented apartment in the Banglamung area on Tuesday and he was quick to confess that his accomplice was Khun Ae, who has turned off his mobile phone and is currently on-the-run.

Brave young soldiers these.

They deserve more than they will probably get.

These crimes should be deterred with imprisonment and forced hard labor.

It would be nice if the PM turned to judicial issues and used violent criminals as slave labor in labor camps. What about digging canals to help with annual flooding, that a dirty thankless job. With loads of free labor, it could be sorted in no time.wai2.gif

The police seem very good at catching people quickly. I hope there is no truth that they weren't interested till the story hit the papers. I saw the footage of them simply pulling up on a bike and kicking the woman in the head. They have zero compassion or respect for other human beings. I hope they get treated in the same manner. I find it amazing that they grass each other up so easily here so they don't even have honour amongst thieves.

Please don't let them off with a 500 baht fine as that just tells all others it's OK to continue in this disgusting inhumane manner.
