Transport Minister inaugurates new Chao Phraya River bridge

NONTHABURI, 26 Dec 2014 (NNT) – Transport Minister Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong has unofficially opened a new bridge across the Chao Phraya River in Nonthaburi province today.

The 4.3 kilometer- bridge, which is intended as a gift for Thai people, was built to alleviate traffic congestion caused by incoming vehicles from Rattanathibet Rd., Ngamwongwan Rd. and Tiwanon Rd. with a budget of 3.8 billion baht. It starts from Nonthaburi road 1 and Nonthaburi bypass on the eastern side of the Chao Phraya River and ends at Ratchapruek Rd.

The Ministry of Transport has submitted a request for an official name from His Majesty the King. Once the name is granted, an official opening will be scheduled.

Apart from the bridge inauguration, Minister Prajin also presided over the launch of a caravan of mobile units to help facilitate the traffic and assist people during the New Year festival.

So now everything this goverment does is "a gift for theThai people". Do not know when they started building this bridge but it sure was not within the last 6 months

Gift or not, but a new bridge is always pleasant in Bangkok.

How can this be a gift to the Thai people when their taxes paid for it ?
