PATTAYA: -- A 17 year old motorbike driver was shot in his shoulder as he drove home from the Pattaya Countdown Festival in the early hours of Tuesday.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told Police that he was driving his motorbike home along the Sukhumvit Road when he was suddenly surrounded by a large gang of youths on motorbikes in the North Pattaya area, in front of a Mosque.

Profane language was directed at the victim before one of the gang members shot in his direction a total of 4 times. One of the shots penetrated his right shoulder.

The injured boy was taken to the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya where the extent of his injuries are currently being assessed by medical staff.

Tourists are reminded that all of these incidents are Thai on Thai and should not be a concern to them in the slightest. The Tourist Authority is confident that tourists should flock to Pattaya and other destinations in Thailand to have a wonderful and safe holiday. There is no need to be concerned but do not forget to bring lots of money.

Happy Holidays.

There are such things as mistaken identities when someone shoots others from a distance when they are wearing a helmet. There are also such things as stray bullets. All crime affects all people wherever and to whoever it is aimed. Oh, and I know what irony is.

People should not be running around with guns and knives. What does that say for their mentality and emotional stability? End of story.

1 bullet was Thai on Thai, the other 3 didn't care where or what or who they went into.

Is the Mosque significant in this event?

A few tensions rising perhaps?

Surprised he was taken to the BHP, looks to be more of a candidate for the Memorial.

That was before Memorial jacked their prices to the moon as a fleecing process

of the endless Russian tourists that go there.
