guavagirl
Anyone have any experience with lawyers in Samui? I need someone with experience in business and family law. Any recommendations would be great. I am hoping to save myself a trip up to Bangkok.
crusty
The best investment you will ever make in any legal matters here on Samui, is to fly a BKK lawyer here with a return ticket and accommodation, The end results are far cheaper than dealing with local shonkey monkey "lawyers"

Tropicalevo
I have not needed to use a lawyer in my years on Samui, but when I was looking for one for a possible case, the only one that impressed me was a guy called Manit. http://www.samuilaw.com/ He used to work for one of the top law firms in Bangkok (http://www.tilleke.com/) He was not interested in litigation cases on Samui (local boys had too much control and I was considering litigation), but with his background he could be good for what you are looking for. Rooo
Crusty is pretty spot on . All my trust & illusions of local firms have been shattered.
khunPer
I've been using Michael Pearth from DFDL Crawshaws in Bophut for business matters, and been very satisfied with the service. Web: http://crawshaws.com/ Profile: http://www.dfdl.com/locations/thailand/our-advisers Believe first lawyer meeting normally is free-of-charge, so may be worth a check... guavagirl
Thanks everyone. I will ring up Manit later today and see if he can help me out. Otherwise, I guess I will be flying to Bangkok.
